Connecticut RID Mission

The Connecticut Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (CRID) was founded in 1971, and is one of more than 60 local chapters affiliated with the national Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).

When you become a member of CRID you support our goals to:

  • Promote and maintain the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct for Interpreters and Transliterators.
  • Foster professional support for Interpreters (novice through experienced) by attaining new information and knowledge in areas that concern the itnerpreting profession.
  • Provide the opportunity for an exchange of ideas and information through workshops, trainings, events, meetings and social gatherings.
  • Encourage Interpreters and professionals in related fields, and community members to participate in the advancement of the Interpreting field.
  • Support organizations and activities of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.

CRID members are Interpreters, Deaf consumers, professionals, and community supporters. Discounts on workshops are available to members. All members are encouraged to attend and participate in membership meetings, workshops, social events, and other CRID sponsored activities.
